The Tiger’s Mouth: A moving meditation through the 6 hexagrams of Entheos
With Adam Tree and DJ Caçadora
Description:
The intention of this workshop is to connect participants to their true nature and to Source by working through the 6 I-ching hexagrams of Entheos. Starting with the first hexagram from 2007 : 59 : Dissolution and culminating in the last hexagram chosen for 2012: 27 : The Tiger’s Mouth also called Nourishment.
Through movement, music, inner inquiry and group process, participants will have an opportunity to leave behind elements of the ego that are not serving them and make contact with what is real and emerging. This allows for an authentic connection to inner guidance and truth in the moment.
Drawing on a powerful yet simple set of techniques that include: Meditation, Yoga, Active Meditation/Ecstatic Dance, Sound/Vocal Toning, Visualization and Deep Relaxation, participants will journey through the 6 hexagrams and authentically connect more deeply with themselves while gaining deeper knowledge about the evolution of Entheos festival. In a fun and safe space, participants will integrate intention and movement through the intuitive guidance of Adam Tree and rich soundscapes of DJ Caçadora.
Bio:
Adam Tree has been alchemically melding music and different traditions of movement and yoga since his teaching journey. He first encountered the depth of the I-ching only weeks before his yoga teacher training and so his practice has evolved to include both yoga and I-ching. The guiding principles for his practice are gratitude for where you are and a sincere inquiry into the truth of what is present. Adam believes in the mystery of the universe and the magic of the individual. His classes aim to share some of yoga’s deep wisdoms while keeping things light and fun.
DJ Caçadora is an integral element of the vibrant Victoria intentional dance scene and a resident DJ at The Reef Jamaican restaurant and bar. Her musical styles traverse many genres melding dub, dancehall, dubstep, downtempo, glitch hop and breaks with global grooves. As someone who would rather move than sit, Caçadora is inspired by the power of bringing together dance, yoga, intrinsic movement and meditation to connect the body with its natural rhythms. soundcloud.com/cacadora
Still moon ~ Yin Yoga
with Ashleigh
Description:
Yin Yoga is a deep, slow and transformational practice for your body and mind. Also known as yoga for the joints, we relax into the asanas for anywhere from 3-10 minutes. Allowing you the time and space to to go beyond the superficial skin and muscles and awaken the connective tissues, bones and fascia. A container is created for you to slow down, go inwards and consciously disconnect from the busyness of the outside world. Through stillness, breath, sound and intention we will begin to gently unravel the body.
Bio:
My curiosity and love for life has lead me down different streams of inquiry including Continuum movement, Contact dance, Meditation, and Sound & Vibration. I am certified in Hatha, Yin and Prenatal Yoga and for many years I managed and co owned Village Yoga in Steveston.
My classes are an organic weave of fluid movement, meditative stillness, playful exploration and deep inquiry. My intention is to create a grounded and sacred container for you to come home into your body, listen to it's subtle sensations, quiet whispers and authentic impulses Here and Now, opening to infinite potential.
After traveling for the past many months through India and Asia I continue to learn and gather inspiration and knowledge from all who I meet, integrating and remembering the potency of teaching from our own direct experience.
My greatest joy is in the moments of pure Surrender to the juiciness of all that life has to offer.
I invite you to dive into your Heart space, open to Grace and celebrate the pleasure of being an Embodied human Be-ing!

Pole-Dancing with Lilith: Transcending Taboos & Embracing the Goddess
with Lilith
Description:
In this 1.5 hour workshop, Natalie/Lilith shares her perspective on pole-dancing as a way to explore the balance between sexuality, sensuality, and spirituality. She will give a pole-dancing demonstration and then support any interested participants in learning a few moves on the pole! Welcoming both men and womyn, this workshop promises a playful and provocative exploration of our potent connection to the creative rhythm of Divine Feminine.
Bio:
Natalie (Lilith) is a general life enthusiast, playful pioneer, and pole-dancing performance artist. She is passionate about authentic creative expression, actively engaging in her reality through dancing, teaching, performing, studying, moving, and sharing. She grew up taking dance lessons and teaching children the fundamentals of movement and after moving to Edmonton to study psychology in 2006, she began teaching pole-dancing to womyn with Aradia Fitness. Through inspiring womyn to connect to their sensual nature through pole-dancing, Natalie embarked on a path that she suspects may grow into her life's work. Natalie believes that by expressing our sensual nature, particularly in public space through art and play, we rediscover our essence as wild and embodied spiritual beings. In this light, Natalie created her own brand of sensual movement (Calico Moves) and facilitated a wildly successful FlashMob project in Isla Vista, California last winter. As her alter-ego, Lilith, Natalie brings the art of pole-dancing into entirely new spheres, including Vancouver's popular Electro Swing parties, the budding circus troupe, Vaudeville Vagabonds, and at music festivals including Motion Notion and Astral Harvest. On a sunny day, you can see Lilith and her violinist partner, Vine, in their unique busking act on the streets of Vancouver (check out the article 'Meet the Portable Pole Dancer' on www.thetyee.ca)! Currently, Natalie is taking a break from her academic studies to grow as a performing artist and to explore and share the connections between movement, creativity, and sensual expression.
