Volunteer at Entheos

Hello, and thank you for considering volunteering for the Entheos lightship.

Before we begin, there are a few things that you need to know.

A volunteer commitment entails two separate six hour shifts during the gathering.

Volunteers (and event crew) are required to pay $25 (less than last year) to cover camping costs and related administrative and facilities expenses.

Please note that there will be no crew kitchen this year.

Volunteers are the backbone of this kind of project, and are invaluable to the smooth operation of the Entheos lightship experience. If you do not believe that you can responsibly (and soberly) fulfill your volunteer commitment to Entheos, please stop here.

Preferred Cells

Entheos is organized very organically, and to reflect this, each area of responsibility for the festival is called a 'Cell'. At the center of each Cell is at least one 'Nucleus', an individual who manages the functioning of that Cell.

As a volunteer you will be assigned to a particular cell, and you will be in contact with the Cell Nucleus leading up to the festival to determine your shift schedule.

Which cells would you prefer to work in (pick 3):

Coffee: - -

Volunteer for the coffee lounge where you will enjoy providing easy service to grateful people in a peaceful lounge environment. Perks include tips, discounted coffee, and lots of smiles. 2 6 hour shifts for completion of volunteer commitment.

First Aid: - -

Looking for energetic and caring people to work one 12 hour shift during the event. Must submit a copy of your valid first aid certification with your application. An ideal candidate has a minimum of OFA level 2, though all levels of first aid will be considered for a position, so don't be shy!
Anyone with OFA level 3 (or equivalent) or higher will have their volunteer fees waived...HOLY SMOKES WHAT A DEAL!!!
All you OFA 3 (or equivalent) or higher certified peeps--> Want to work long crew instead? Come up to the land for the pre-show set up and hang out with some rad peeps in the sun, while making sure they don't nail their feet to the stages. This position will most likely require long hours where you will probably be put to work, but trust me... It's worth it! Not to mention you won't have a shift during the event.

Grounds: - -

Grounds helps keeps the basic needs of the party taken care of - keeping the festival site clean, sorting reyclables, replenishing portapotties, and other maintenance-related tasks that are essential to a functioning festival.

Kids Zone: - -

Are you interested in holding space for the next generation? Would you like to help make Entheos a safe and fun place for kids of all ages? Then come and volunteer at the Kidszone. Together, we can create a safe, fun, and inviting place for kids and adults.

Lightship: - -

The Lightship is looking for energetic people who want to get their hands dirty on the days before and after the festival. This will include digging trenches for cords, helping construct the stage, assisting with teardown. These shifts will take place before/after the festival - on Thursday, Friday or Monday, so you need to be on site and ready to go early!

Metatron's Cube: - -

Metatron's Cube is looking for skilled people with experience in landscaping and carpentry to assist with preparing the area as well as constructing and dismantling the stage.

Security: - -

Our security team is looking for conscientious, friendly assistant peacekeepers who will roam the festival keeping their eyes open for any situation that needs attention and be ready to assist in re-establishing balance if necessary.

Volunteers: - -

Floaters are multi-talented individuals whose role will consist of helping out wherever there is a need - this could include working at any of the cells as required, or assisting with tasks, running missions, conducting site maintenance, helping with setup, teardown and whatever else might be needed. If you're dynamic, adaptable and ready to take initiative, this position might be perfect for you.

Waiver

I and on behalf of any and all heirs, knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk for any property or income loss, personal injury, sickness, or death which may occur by attending and participating in Entheos Summer Solstice 2012 Festival and Conference, herein referred to as “Entheos Gathering 2012”.

I hereby forever release, discharge, and hold harmless Entheos Gathering 2012—including its organizers, officers, members, staff crew, representatives or other agents—from any claim resulting from my presence at Entheos Gathering 2012 and any related activities, even if such claim(s) are a result of negligence of any festival officers, organizers, staff crew, vendors, contractors, volunteers, or third parties.

I assume full responsibility and liability for my personal well being, physical condition, and from any actions by other participants and attendees. I am aware of the risks associated with event attendance and participation, including but not limited to setup, take down, and event participation. I further agree that I am in sufficient physical condition to accept the rigorous level of physical activity required of volunteers.

Moreover, I will comply with any and all rules, regulations, and terms and conditions of Entheos Gathering 2012, including any and all safety provisions. I will attend Volunteer orientation and will complete necessary training before starting my shifts, including special training which might be required of some shifts.
